Gear Checklist (Shooting Courses)

We recommend you bring your own equipment to become more effective with what you plan to carry in the real world.  If you have questions on your equipment or out rental equipment please email us at [email protected] or view our Recommended Gear drop down.

We require that you understand how to load, unload, make safe, and break down your own weapon.  If you do not, please arrive at least 45 minutes early for your course and let the receptionist know you will need assistance learning your equipment.

This list is by no means exhaustive.  If you have more gear questions email us at [email protected].

We like questions as they prevent confusion, delay and disappointment.  When in doubt ask!

We recommend you bring your own equipment to become more effective with what you plan to carry in the real world.  If you have questions on your equipment or our available rental equipment please email us at [email protected]

We require that you understand how to load, unload, make safe, and break down your own weapon.  If you do not, please arrive at least 45 minutes early for your class and let the receptionist know you will need assistance learning your equipment.

Firearms:

We suggest a full or compact size semi-automatic pistol from a reputable manufacturer.  Please bring at least three magazines for your weapon.  Ex. Glock 17 or 19, Sig Sauer P229 or P226, HK USP or USP Compact, 1911 Variants

We do not suggest revolvers, however; you are welcome to bring them.  Please bring at least 3 speed loaders.

We do not allow ultra compacts, pocket pistols, or unreasonably over sized pistols. Ex. Kel Tec, Desert Eagle, Kahr PM Series.

The Holster, Belt, and Magazine Holder are a substantial and necessary part of your gunfighting system.  Do not skimp on them.

Holster:

We suggest kydex or leather  holsters that are specifically designed to your exact firearm model.

Women may bring concealment purses for additional practice during scenarios but should have a holster for the majority of the class.

We do not suggest drop leg holsters, paddle holsters, or thumb breaks.

We do not allow shoulder holsters, small of back holsters, appendix carry holsters, or cross draw holsters.  We only allow inside the waistband holsters for Level 2 Courses.  Holsters must cover the trigger.

We have successfully used:

Blade-Tech  (One of our cadre has been using his almost daily for 12 years and still does)

Raven Concealment

Galco

Belt:

Belts do not work well without belt loops.

We suggest a heavy ballistic nylon belt that can be worn with standard belt loops or a reinforced leather gun belt.

We have successfully used:

First Spear

Galco

Magazine Holders:

We suggest Magazine Holders without flaps made of kydex or reinforced ballistic nylon.
